Shawn has 21 years of public safety and military experience including 14 years as a police detective. Shawn is one of the most professional and experienced investigators in Georgia.
Shawn had 5 years of honorable service in the United States Marine Corps. As a police officer, Shawn graduated at the top of his academy class and went on to be awarded rookie of the year. Shawn spent 3 years on a DEA Task Force in Atlanta and has extensive undercover experience. Shawn has experience investigating homicides, corporate fraud, narcotics and money laundering, theft, and missing persons. As a Captain at a metro Atlanta police department, Shawn supervised a criminal investigations division, narcotics unit, and SWAT. Shawn has been a Georgia certified law enforcement instructor for 16 years and he has taught firearms, search and seizure, interviews and interrogations, as well as numerous other topics to new and experienced police officers. Shawn is certified in and has extensive experience in electronic and physical surveillance, data recovery, courtroom testimony, and crime scene investigations.
As an investigator at JHPII, Shawn is dedicated to applying his skill as an investigator to help our clients. Shawn gathers and analyzes information, locates and interviews witnesses, and assists in organizing all the information in a clear and concise format for presentation in hearings and at trial. Shawn also performs other tasks such as drafts and obtains affidavits, preparing legal arguments, reviewing reports, attending meetings and working to improve the investigative process. Shawn also assists attorneys during depositions, hearings and trials.
